Updated sideboard

Love this sideboard, it has loads of storage but it was far too dark.

So I removed all the handles, gave it a light sand, then 3 coats of Johnstones eggshell paint.

It looks so much better and makes the entire room look brighter.

A few cards made using my Silhouette Cameo

I used Tim Holtz birdcage and bird die for this card, the flowers and lace are all from Wild Orchid Crafts, papers are from prima and I've also used faded jeans and spun sugar distress inks.

Wedding Card

I made this card using silver & white cardstock, frames & heart were cut with my silhouette and I've added some pearls, silver gems and some white satin ribbon.

All Occasion Card

I made this card with a frame cut using my silhouette,  Tim Holtz birdcage & bird die,  white & blue pearlescent card & silver mirror card.

All embellishments are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the gem on my ribbon was made using my glue gun & glitter.

Craft room floor

I wanted something different on my craft room floor so took the laminate up and cut up some of my hoard of papers.

I used a mixture of  PVA and water to stick them to the floorboards in a random patchwork design.

At this stage, everythings stuck down but I'm thinking, what the hell have I done, I could of done with some sunglasses.

I then used some watered down white emulsion to tone the colour down.  I'm much happier now with the colour.  I finished off  by giving it a coat of the watered down PVA, then 3 coats of matt varnish (which I already had) so I've got a new floor for nothing.

A few christmas cards

Mini Bedroom Makeover

Thought I'd share a little bedroom makeover that I've just completed, which cost me nothing.  I used some glitter, gems, paint, lace (all of which I already had in my craft room) also an old duvet cover.

I also stuck some lace & gems to the bottom of my plain white blind to co-ordinate.

Upcycling project

My spare room needed a bit of tlc, so I decided to upcycle a lamp and a small set of drawers.
The drawers were originally beech and from ikea, I've used matt white spray paint from Wilkinsons and gave it two coats, leaving a day inbetween coats.
In the groove of the drawers I cut some scrapbook paper to size and distressed with faded jeans distress ink then used UHU glue to adhere.

The lamp started off with a yellow check shade (yuck) so I also used some spray paint on that & finished with some flowers and butterflies that I punched out.

I don't have a before photo but I'm really pleased with how they turned out and they're definitely an improvement to what they were.

Again not the best photo, but think I'm improving, well I hope{lol}.

Summer necklace

Ok, second attempt at jewellery making with air dry clay, I moulded the shapes I wanted, let them dry {24 hrs, sooo frustrating}.  I then painted them with craft paint and a metallic gold pen, finished off with a matt varnish.  Used gold coloured jewellery wire { wrapped around a thick pen to make the coils} to finish it off.

Mmmm, not sure!!!

Air Dry Clay

I've been dying to have a try at making some jewellery for a while, like most crafters I've already acquired more jewellery making items, along with all my other crafty stash [including air dry clay] than I know what to do with, lol.

So, with some pastry cutters to make the flowers some pretty beads & pearlescent paint, then a chain, this is the end result.

Not the best of pics [I definitely need LOADS of practice].  I'm quite happy with this as a first attempt, not sure about the chain though!!

Recently I have also been using my Silhouette Cameo (love this machine sooo much).
I've made a family tree of my children with their partners and my two beautiful Granddaughters.

It's for my craft room, however, not sure whether the black makes it too stark x

Apologies in advance for the messy photo (I'm only glad you can't see the rest of my craft room) x

Serif

Hi, this is the first card I have made using the Serif free software (downloaded from the Daisy Trail website).
It's been a while since I made cards and I thoroughly enjoyed making this x

And this is the inside.

Yet another thank you card (hope they like mermaids!)

Hi, everyone, wow! I,ve just discovered Crafts & Me, what a fab shop, great choice of stamps, both rubber & digis (I can feel my bank balance shrinking by the second, lol).  I downloaded a few digis the other day & the one I'm using today is called Hidden Treasure (my something new for the fab 'n' funky challenge).  Sooo lovely to colour, well, kept me quiet for a while :)

I,ve used promarkers & flexmarkers to colour my image & blue, white & silver acrylic pearlescent paints around my papers, card & the lace.  The papers are from Joanna Sheens Precious Petals cd rom, once again (I can't help it, this cd rom is fantastic, if only for the lush papers) and also blueberry pie from Papermanias capsule collection.

The lace I've used (which isn't very clear in piccie, sorry, is and old curtain, lol.  I also found a packet full of the dolphin buttons the other day when I was having a sort out :)
Basically I didn't know when to stop with this one, all the other items are from my stash, oh & garden, chuckle.

Thanks so much 4 looking today

Celebrate

Hi all, just wanted to share this card I made for a baby boy, and thought I may enter it into the Joanna Sheen Challenge.

I started with a clipart image of a pram and altered it to suit, the backing papers are off the sugar birdies cd rom by polka doodles (I think !).  I,ve embossed the scalloped rectangles from the emboss to impress board by the glitter girls and used a punch for the flowers.  The ribbon sentiments I just printed off and backed with the gingham backing paper.

Thanks 4 looking

Winter Fairy

Hi all, just wanted to share the christmas cards I,ve made for my beautiful little nieces, they love fairies & anything sparkly, so this digi stamp 'the winter fairy' from whimsy is perfect for them, although I think I may have gone a little OTT with the glitter & sparkle, lol.  Once again, apologies for the pic, I'm still struggling with the camera & editing, even after all the advice my lovely fellow crafters have given me :(

I've coloured the gorgeous fairy with docrafts pearlescent paints, promarkers & distress inks, backing papers are from my stash & flourishes are marianne dies, it doesn't show very well but the fairies & the snowflakes have been covered with stickles & twinklets (glass glitter).  Thanks so much for looking today & any comments you leave.

Silver fairy

Morning all, its still bitterly cold here, but at least its dry.  This card is for my sons girlfriends birthday, but I suppose it could be a christmas card because of the image.  I,ve used the beautiful siver fairy from whimsy.

Apologies for my photo (I'm still no better with the camera) the flowers look yellowy cream, but are in fact, white & lilac.
The backing papers are from a free xmas cd rom I found (and never used).  I,ve used a crafters companion embossing board to create the frame around the fairy & a martha stewart punch to create the layers behind.  Ribbon & gems from stash & flowers from wild orchid crafts.  The corners & flourishes are all marianne dies & I,ve used loads of stickles, snowtex & glamour dust, don't think it shows very well tho :)
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges :-

Contemporary Christmas

Hi all, hope eveyones ok and keeping warm, its absolutely freezing here in Wales.  Because of the cold, lol (as if I need an excuse) I intend to have a marathon crafting session:)  So may well have a few cards to show today.
My first card was inspried by the creative inspirations challenge (contemporary colours) using only purple, turquiose &white.  Very different to cards I usually make, but I think I like it :)

The trees are a digi stamp from MCS, I found the stars in an old mag & coloured them to match, snowflakes are from a stencil I,ve had for years & the sentiment was also from a magazine.

Id like to enter this card in the following challenges:-

Creative Inspirations Challenge  -  Contemporary Colours
Totally Papercrafts  -  Let It Snow
SimplyCreateToo  -  All About Christmas
Divas By Design  -  Anything Goes
Raise The Bar  -  Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Thanks soo much for looking today, may speak to you all later, bye for now.
